The firm's roots in the Manchester area go back to the early 1800s. Until the late 1970s it was a typical family run partnership, concentrating mainly on domestic conveyancing, trust and probate work.
Although domestic matters have continued to be an important part of the work carried out by the firm, from 1980 the focus of the partners shifted strongly to commercial work. Commercial as well as inheritance tax planning and quality conveyancing are the strengths of the firm today.
In 2004 the firm converted to a limited company, the Directors of which
are Bob Haworth, Richard Bell, Amanda Freeman and Tanya Simister.
The firm has grown in recent years and in 2005 moved from Hale to
much larger offices in Altrincham to provide space for expansion, which
has continued and accelerated since. We now occupy a handsome early Victorian building, remembered with affection by many as the Portafino Restaurant and Hotel on the Downs.
The directors have continuing plans to expand and they look forward to
the future with confidence.
